Iowa Judge Approves Gay Weddings.

From BBC news: “Iowa Judge Approves Gay Weddings: A county judge has struck down a ban on same-sex marriages in…Iowa as unconstitutional.”
Hooray Iowa! I hear that Polk County attorney John Sarcone has moved to prevent any of the marriage licenses from being issued until an appeal was decided. Asshat. I don’t understand his vested interest in stopping the ceremonies. The 1998 Defense of Marriage Act was decided on emotional appeal and attack politics, and was never a strong piece of legislation, so why bother trying to defend it.
Now the question is how to keep Massachusetts and Iowa from reversing their decisions and recognizing that gays are people too. Fabulous people.
