Save transit.

“Early voters overwhelmingly said “no” to an effort to repeal the half-cent sales tax for mass transit in Mecklenburg County, according to returns released Tuesday evening.”

Those are only the results from early voters, but 15,926 people said no to repealing the tax (versus the 6,823 to voted for repeal).

We should all remember that investing in transit is just that, an investment. In order to be a viable city we’ve got to open corridors and provide alternatives to road congestion. Give the rest of Charlotte that half penny. You’re not going to miss it.
