Two days straight.

I have worked, literally, for two days straight. I reported to the office bright eyed and bushy-tailed at 9 AM on Tuesday, stayed in the office until 11 PM or so when I left with work in tow. I worked through the night, catching almost exactly 30 minutes of sleep sitting on the floor of the shower this morning and was back at work at 7 AM. I stayed at the office until 5 PM when I went to the night-gig, worked until 10:15 PM and and now back at my office. I’ll be here until at least 1 or 2 AM.
Crazy you say? Yessir. Necessary? I suppose. Fun? Not-so-much.
I’ve got a HUGE presentation that is due in first draft tomorrow morning at 10, in addition to the regular work I have to do which includes the gaping black-hole of a time-suck that should be known as committees for redefining our web presence into a vital part of our programming.
Don’t misunderstand - I’m not complaining - I’m simply stating that it’s going to feel good to hit the bed with no intention of getting back out of it.

Part deux:
On the home buying front, I think that the wheels are falling off the wagon. I don’t understand how everything that needs to be done, every paper that needs to be signed and every seller that needs to be throttled can be done, signed and throttled before Wednesday of next week. That’s the 18th ladies and germs. That’s the day that I am supposed to be a homeowner. Instead it may be another cranky Wednesday with the faint glimmer of home ownership on the horizon. Hopefully when the movers show up they’ll have somewhere to take my stuff. I guess if push comes to shove I can live in the moving truck.
I really hope it works out, if for no other reason than I found a WONDERFUL piece of art that will be mine if it’s even remotely reasonably priced. Mine, I say.
