Apple has posted this on their website regarding Proposition 8 which would define marriage in the California State Constitution as an act between only man and woman, effectively overturning the California Supreme Court’s decision to legalize gay marriage and offer same-sex rights to millions of Californians.
No on Prop 8
October 24, 2008Apple is publicly opposing Proposition 8 and making a donation of $100,000 to the No on 8 campaign. Apple was among the first California companies to offer equal rights and benefits to our employees’ same-sex partners, and we strongly believe that a person’s fundamental rights — including the right to marry — should not be affected by their sexual orientation. Apple views this as a civil rights issue, rather than just a political issue, and is therefore speaking out publicly against Proposition 8.
Go Apple!

My calendar at work, which is admittedly always a little full, has gotten out of control since I announced that I’ll be leaving.
Notice that I don’t even have time between meetings to make coffee or go to the bathroom. Yikes!

What’s that you say, throngs of readers? Why, oh why haven’t I posted anything at all in a very long time? I shall tell you that it is for the same reason I am posting this entry at 4:42 in the morning on a Monday.
I’ve been pretty busy.
If you are a devotee of my life and follow my Facebook status updates you may know my big news. If you aren’t, then you had better prove to me that you have something better to do with your time. Tuesday of next week will be my last day at McColl Center for Visual Art after a more-good-than-bad two and a half years and I’ll start down a whole new - yet probably more in-line with my experience - career at Queens University of Charlotte as Creative Services Project Manager in the Office of Marketing and Community Relations.
I’m excited about the change, but a bit tired from the transitioning. I gave three weeks notice at the Center, and have been working my tail off ever since.
Now that I have shared my big news, I want to share the Peri Peri Keychain. Why? So you can enjoy the thrill of opening packages over and over again, of course!
Here are a few other things I’ve been meaning to share for awhile. Every single one is worth a look:
- Faceout Books is a blog about book cover design. Interesting notes on the image selection process on most of them.
- Vintage Color Photos of US Cities is both accurately named and slow loading, but I find something charming about the images and I think it’s worth the wait.
- Daphne Padden makes me want to be an illustrator. But only if I can be one in London in the 60s.
